Bend, Don’t Break
After the longest closure in Met history, the 2021–22 season launched with the premiere of Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones, the first work by a Black composer presented at the Met. The bold display type Marsha and striking photography signaled the momentous nature of this opening. Created in collaboration with the agency London in New York and photographer Zenith Richards.
